Teeth are disappearing!!

Isabelle started with a wobbly tooth, about a month before Kaelyn was born, in October. She was very excited and started planning what she was going to do with the money she received from the tooth fairy. The conversation went something like this:

Isabelle: Mummy, guess what I am going to do with my tooth fairy money.
Me: I don't know, buy some new teeth?
Isabelle: No silly, if I get 60p, I am going to buy a garden, BUT if i get 70p I am going to buy a garden AND a dog!! (Slight explanation needed, Isabelle said she wanted a dog and was told that when we have a bigger house with a garden, we may consider it.)
Me: Well sweetheart, unfortunately, gardens and dogs are a few more pennies than that, but what a fantastic idea.

Anyway, her tooth came out the day before my due date, she was excited and we all hoped that maybe her sister would follow suit, unfortunately she waited another 3 days!! Needless to say, Isabelle was excited to get money from the tooth fairy and is growing some very fine adult teeth. She decided to spend the money on some chewing gum, as she is desperately wanting to try all things grown up. She is five going on fifteen, seriously! I cannot believe my baby is losing her teeth!

She has lost her bottom two front teeth within a couple of months of each other, so she was struggling to chew and talk for a while, luckily, the adult teeth have grown very quickly.

Sisters

My gorgeous girls are getting big so fast. Especially Kaelyn! She got weighed a couple of weeks ago and she was 12lbs 8oz and on the 50th centile. She seems to be sticking to the average line but still has plenty of rolls. Here are some cute pictures of them together. They are so cute together and chatter away to each other. Sometimes, Isabelle can settle her, when Lee and I can't! They are truly sisters and I hope that their relationship carries on like this! I am sure we will have a few upsets and arguements over the years though!

This is the closest I could get to matching dresses, though I didn't think I would go for all of that!! They do look quite cute really!!

Isabelle took this picture herself, while I wasn't looking and I am amazed at how well it came out.
Though Isabelle has a tendency to close her eyes in photos, so she was in the process of closing them at the time!!

This is the girls in their co-ordinating christmas outfits, we went for practical sweater dresses so they looked cute, but were warm, as we had plenty of snow at christmas!!

Snow in Harrogate?!?!

I am sure you have all heard, that in Britain, and in many other places, we are having record amounts of snow! In our family, we all became kids again and wanted to get out and play!!! Luckily, the week before the heavy snow came, Lee's mum took Isabelle out shopping and bought some very fancy snow boots for her!! Just in time!

On Christmas Eve, we all got wrapped up and went out to play in the snow. We made sure Kaelyn was warm in her pram and parked her underneath a tree as it was still snowing. She was asleep the whole time!!

This is Lee and Isabelle building the snowman on the Stray (grassland) around the corner from our house. He was quite an impressive fella and someone even walked past and wanted to take a picture of him!! Hilarious!!

How pretty is this tree?!? I must admit that I love the snow, but it does slow everything up in this country, especially travelling!! But for now we will enjoy the snow and the fact it isn't raining!!

Our Baby Girl, Kaelyn!

Understandably, it has taken me a while to get the photos of Kaelyn downloaded and onto the blog, having a new baby and all!! I forgot how time consuming they are!! She is a real cutie and we are all besotted with her, how did we manage without her? She is a really good baby and has fitted into our family really well. Ok, I am done bragging, you can enjoy the photos now!!

Sound asleep, one of the rare times she would take the dummy!

Another picture with the dummy, honestly, it is a huge struggle to get her to take it!! Isabelle took hers so easily and didn't want to give it up!

Fallen asleep in one of her favourite, if not strange and slightly awkward, positions!

Having a good stretch on her sheepskin rug in front of the fire, it's a hard life!! What a fantastic pose!

This is what Kaelyn did while we were building a snowman and having a snowball fight! Obviously not too bothered by the snow!

I love this photo, unfortunately, I took it too late to be able to use it for my christmas cards, how perfect would it be?!?!? I endeavour to put all our christmas, new year and snow pictures on in the next week or so, but please forgive me if it gets to February and still no photos!!

Our new addition!

At 3:30am on Saturday 21st November 2009, I woke up feeling a bit strange and at 3 days past my due date, I suspected it may be time for baby Gray to make an entrance. However I knew it could take a while, so I set to, at that unearthly hour, getting everything ready for the baby, as well as some crafting!!! Lee and Isabelle woke up about 6am and I decided to do a cooked breakfast to occupy the time. Contractions were irregular and not too strong so I wasn't worried. I sent Lee off to work and Isabelle got picked up to go to a friend's birthday party.

Then I bent down to pick up a laundry basket and felt a pop and a sudden gush of water!! I called Lee and he had to turn around and come back! We left for the hospital at 10am and we were on the labour ward by 10.30, we were in the delivery room by 11am. By this time contractions were coming closer together and more intense every time!! I was using gas and air, and rocking on a birthing ball, which was helping. By 12.00 I was on the bed and pushing, Kaelyn Rose was born at 12.25pm. I can't believe how fast it was compared to Isabelle!! Lee was absolutely fantastic and is now besotted!! We are so grateful that another little princess has joined our family!!

This was taken just as they brought her up onto my stomach, I am absolutely exhausted and very hot and sweaty!!! Nice!!!
This is after we have both had a wash and look a bit more civilized!! I was just relieved that it was over and she was with us!!!
Welcome to the world Kaelyn Rose Alan Gray born 21st Nov 2009 at 12.25pm weighing 7lbs 5.5oz.

Isabelle's first day in Year One!

Incredibly, I remembered to take a picture of Isabelle on the first day back at school, though we were rushing and as you can see, she was less than impressed!! She has settled in so well to being in the older class, and her recent parents evening went very positively. She is progressing fast and we are trying to keep up with everything she is doing at school!! We are so proud of her, despite the grumpy face!!

Our last day trip of the Summer

I know this is obscenely delayed but I was looking through the photos and they are some cute ones of Isabelle. We used a voucher and got into Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Gardens, for FREE!! We were very lucky with the weather and it only started raining as we were leaving. Isabelle loved climbing the ruins and Lee was following an audio tour with headphones, so kept throwing in facts and figures (which he loves!!) We walked for miles all around the extensive grounds, so rewarded ourselves with ice cream to finish. Isabelle's face is excellent, staring at the rather large ice cream!! (Sorry it is a bit dark, the clouds had started rolling in by this point!!)
